TIX will represent Norway at Eurovision 2021!

After 5 weeks of semi-finals, 6 direct-qualifiers and a wildcard round, the final of Norwegian selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2021, Melodi Grand Prix we got the winner of it among the 26 acts which competed and  TIX was voted as winner of it. The show was broadcasted live from the H3 Arena in Fornebu, just outside of Oslo, hosts of the show were Kåre Magnus Bergh, Ronny Brede Aase and Silje Nordnes

 

The 12 acts performing in the final in running order are:

  1. Atle Pettersen – World on Fire
  2. Raylee– Hero
  3. Stavangerkameratene – Who I Am
  4. KIIM– My Lonely Voice
  5. Blåsemafian feat. Hazel – Let Loose
  6. Emmy – Witch Woods
  7. TIX – Fallen Angel
  8. Kaja Rode – Feel Again
  9. Rein Alexander – Eyes Wide Open
  10. IMERIKA – I Can’t Escape
  11. KEiiNO – Monument
  12. Jorn– Faith Bloody Faith

After each of the acts performed the voting started and the 12 acts were narrowed down to 4 and the acts which advanced were announced in the 2 halves first the ones which performed as 1st to 6th and there was just one act which went to top 4 – Blåsemafian feat. Hazel – Let Loose which meant that 3 of the acts performing from 7th to 12th advanced and those were: Jorn – Faith Bloody Faith, TIX – Fallen Angel and KEiiNO – Monument the voting reopened and then the votes were nullified and 3 votes were awarded again.

After the voting we got to know the final two acts which advanced to the GOLD DUEL those acts were:

KEiiNO – “Monument”

and

TIX – “Fallen Angel”

After that the two acts got to perform once again and the voting was opened and when the results of the votes were announced by Helene Margrete Bøksle for South region who gave 27666 votes to KEiiNO and 36996 votes to TIX Carina Dahl for Middle region who gave 38850 votes to KEiiNO and  votes for TIX
Maria Solheim for North who gave 42437 votes to KEiiNO and  28105 votes for TIX
Beady Belle for West Norway who gave 58942 votes to KEiiNO and 82891 votes for TIX
And  Hanne Krogh  announced votes of East region gave 113148 votes to KEiiNO and 185104 votes for TIX
Total of 281.043 votes went to KEiiNO and 380.033 votes went to TIX.

TIX won the show and was selected to represent Norway at Eurovision Song Contest 2021. You can watch the performance below in the middle of the performance in the Gold Duel TIX said: “Dear Norway I will just say the one thing remember that there is always a way out of the darkness”

TIX is the stage name of Andreas Haukeland (27) from Bærum. Growing up Andreas has been diagnosed with Tourette’s syndrome so he chose his stage name to be TIX. In 2015, he had his first major breakthrough with the song “Sheikh” created for the graduate students which became the annual party song for them. Later on he distinguished himself as a songwriter at home and abroad with the world hit “Sweet but Psycho” with Ava Max, which became the most played song of the year. Since then, TIX has had seven songs as number 1 on Spotify in Norway, and along the way he had fans of different ages from elders to children. During the corona spring 2020, the song “Karantene” became a huge hit. So far TIX has been a participant in Paradise Hotel and a judge in Idol.
