Montenegro’s Eurovision 2022 Artist to be announced on January 4th

Montenegro have taken two years out of the contest citing the budget going to other projects for national broadcaster Radio Televizija Crne Gore (RTCG) however earlier this year it was announced that the nation would be returning to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2022! Today we close out the year with some even better news… that fans will not have long to wait to find out more about Montenegro’s representative for Turin!

We can announce that RTCG will announce the artist or artists that will be representing Montenegro at the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest on the morning show next week on Tuesday 4th January 2022. One of the members of the preselection jury will be appearing on the show to talk about the selection process and go on to reveal the act. However we won’t be going in to it blind as from tomorrow, Saturday 1st January 2022, the Montenegrin delegation will be revealing some clues on their official instagram account @escmontenegro each day in the lead up to the reveal. We’ve already seen successful past performers Knez (2015) and Sergej Ćetković (2014) record videos to encourage local artists to submit songs to the selection and they received 30 songs! The song reveal will come at a later date.

At their last participation at the contest back in 2019, supergroup D mol unfortunately were unable to qualify for the final with their song “Heaven”, continuing a non-qualification streak since Knez’s 13th place at the 2015 contest. Relive his beautiful performance of “Adio” below.
