These are the first four qualifiers of Benidorm Fest 2022

The First Semi-Final of Benidorm Fest has just been held in Spain. Six candidates competed at today’s show, but only four of them have gone through to the final, which is set to take place on Saturday 29th. The show was hosted by singer Alaska, host and former minister of culture Máximo Huerta and host Inés Hernand. The winner of Eurovision 2017 Salvador Sobral and Asturian group Marlon performed as guests artists.

Today Benidorm Fest saw the first set of semifinalists compete for one of the eight spots available at the national final:

  1. Varry Brava – “Raffaella” (Óscar Ferrer, Aaron Sáez, Vicente Illescas)
  2. Azúcar Moreno – “Postureo” (Miguel Linde, Alberto Lorite, David Parejo)
  3. Blanca Paloma – “Secreto de agua” (Blanca Paloma, Antón Serrats, Tomás Virgós, Pablo Serrano)
  4. Unique – “Mejores” (Marco Dettoni, Manu Chalud, Armando Valenzuela, Carlos Almazán, Javier López, Raúl Madroñal)
  5. Tanxugueiras “Terra” (Olaia Maneiro Argibay, Sabela Maneiro Argibay, Aida Tarrío Torrado, Iago Pico Freire)
  6. Chanel – “SloMo” (Leroy Sanchez, Keith Harris, Ibere Fortes, Maggie Szabo, Arjen Thonen)

The results were decided after a combination of votes from two panels of experts, national (60%) and international (40%), and the public, televote (50%) and demoscopic jury made up of 350 members (50%). The jury members were: singer Natalia Calderón, who was the vocal trainer of Melani, Soleá and Levi Díaz at Junior Eurovision, choreographer Miryam Benedicted and Coordinator of RTVE’s Orchestra and Choir Estefanía García making the national panel, and Austrian scenographer Marvin Dietmann and Iceland’s Head of Delegation, Félix Bergsson as the international judges.
