Klaudy: ”I’ve been doing music since I was 9”

The third heat of Melodifestivalen 2024 takes place this Saturday in Växjö. One of the contestants is Carl William Didrik Schenberg, better known as his artist name Klaudy. We got a chance to ask Klaudy a few questions in the middle of his busy schedule before Melodifestivalen. This is what he told us about his relationship to Eurovision, his musical background and some other things too:

Hello Klaudy and thank you for giving me this interview! At first I’d like to ask what is your relationship to Eurovision? Do you usually watch the contest and what are your favorite Eurovision songs?

HELLO! When I grew up I watched it every year together with my family, we were all excited when Eurovision was about to happen! But the last couple years have been a bit hectic for me so honestly I forgot to watch it hehe… But my favorite songs have to be Euphoria and Tattoo by Loreen 🙂

Could you tell us a little bit something about your musical background? How long have you been doing music and do you play any instruments?

When I grew up, I was a lot in church, so I’ve always been around music and musicians. I performed at Christmas concerts, sang on Sundays and youth meetings on Fridays, a good place for an aspiring singer/songwriter. I’ve been doing music since I was 9 and I play mostly piano and guitar.

How was your song ”För dig” born and how would you describe the song and the message of it?

Me and Åke sat together for the second time ever and felt like writing a love song. His perspective on music is so creative and open which inspired me to write För dig 🙂

What kind of stage show can we expect from you in Melodifestivalen?

I can’t tell you, you’ll have to watch! 🙂

Was it clear to you from the start that you’d sing your song in Swedish in Melodifestivalen and would you sing in Swedish in Eurovision also, if you won Mello?

Yes, Swedish 100%.

Who are your musical rolemodels?

Bazzi, Bon Iver.

How would you describe your musical style?

Swedish pop, with influences from the Swedish archipelago and Gothenburg.

What do you do when you don’t do music?

Hanging out with friends and my girlfriend Vera. I like visiting my family in Gothenburg as well. But most of my time goes to creating and writing music.

What would it mean to you to win Melodifestivalen and represent Sweden in Eurovision 2024?

Would be an honor and a great experience. Eurovision is such a huge thing in Sweden, it would be awesome to be honest!

What would you like to say to our readers and your fans from all over the world?

Listen to my music and please give me a vote, I’ll need it! 🙂

Thank you for the interview and the best of luck to Melodifestivalen!
