ZORRA getting translated and defended by Spain’s Prime Minister

Spain’s broadcaster RTVE has translated Nebulossa’s Benidorm Fest winning song ZORRA into English and other languages will follow! The song is number 1 on Spain’s viral charts and number 3 on Spotify’s viral World chart! The video also garnered over 600,000 views on Eurovision’s YouTube channel in just one day.

For these reasons, Nebulossa have released a lyric video in English on their own YouTube channel, while RTVE has more plans. Over the coming days, they hope to release more lyric videos in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, and/or Swedish.

Meanwhile, the song continues to cause some controversy because of its language. As a result of criticism from the Feminist Movement of Madrid, saying the song “insults women in a sexist way”, Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has come out in defense the song.

In an interview on La Sexta television, Mr. Sánchez said;

“It seems to me that feminism is not only fair, it can be fun, and this type of provocation must come from culture.”

The EBU has confirmed that the song does not break any rules for language that would bring Eurovision into disrepute.
