Franka’s team makes a statement on the plagiarism issue!

Various Eurovision fans spotted and brought Guez’s song “Ceea ce iubim” to the spotlight, as it has the exact same backing track as Franka’s Eurovision entry “Crazy”, which is supposed to represent Croatia in Eurovision in May. Guez has released his song only a couple of days before Franka did. Now Franka’s team made a statement on this issue.

Sinisa Bevanda, Franka’s manager, made a statement to eurosong.hr, and we copy it in full:

The song “Crazy” was made by the “Karpo Media” team, and along with Branimir Mihaljević, it was produced by Denis Mevlja, also known as Denzel Beats. Franka was working on the lyrics and the vocal parts of the song. We have worked on the development of this song intensively, together with HRT, since December. The performer who used the song “Crazy” as the backing track for his rap cover was signed by Denzel Beats (Denis Mevlja). Instrumental and karaoke versions of the song are available on all public music platforms, so we are looking forward to hearing more interesting versions of this song. See you in Portugal!

Franka is set to represent Croatia with her song “Crazy” in the second half of the first semi final in Lisbon, on the 8th of May.
