2011 UK representatives and British Noughties music icons Blue have announced a reunion tour for 2022 to mark the 20th anniversary of their formation.
The tour, named Heart & Soul, will run for 12 shows over 2 weeks in late September and early October 2022 all over the UK. So far, the confirmed dates are:
Saturday 17 September – M&S Bank Arena, Liverpool
Sunday 18 September – First Direct Arena, Leeds
Monday 19 September – OVO Hydro, Glasgow
Wednesday 21 September – P&J Live, Aberdeen
Thursday 22 September – Utilita Arena, Newcastle
Saturday 24 September – AO Arena, Manchester
Sunday 25 September – Resorts World Arena, Birmingham
Monday 26 September – Brighton Centre
Wednesday 28 September – Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham
Thursday 29 September – The O2, London
Saturday 1 October – Motorpoint Arena, Cardiff
Sunday 2 October – International Centre, Bournemouth
Tickets will go on sale at 9am on Friday 3rd December 2021 here. There will also be a preview show in Dublin a week prior.
All three of the band’s first albums, All Rise (2001), One Love (2002) and Guilty (2003) were UK No.1s and charted all over Europe, producing many chart-topping hits along the way.
After their split in late 2004, they reunited for a one-off performance at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball at Emirates Stadium, London, in 2009, before going on to be internally-selected to represent the UK at Eurovision 2011 in Düsseldorf with I Can.
Despite much media and fan hype, and a high position in the odds, Blue could only muster an 11th place finish, coming 5th in the televote but 22nd with the juries. British comedian and lifelong Blue fan Alex Brooker believes that the London-based foursome were “hard done by” that night.
Still, it is notable as the only time the UK finished on the mythical “left-hand side” of the scoreboard in the whole of the 2010s.
The band is made up of Antony Costa, Duncan James, Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe, all of whom have had a modicombe of solo success, either musically or in other media, in the UK and abroad, since Blue’s heyday.
In 2014, Webbe finished second in Strictly Come Dancing, the UK’s original iteration of international hit TV show Dancing With The Stars.
