First finalists of Festival da Canção 2023 decided

Tonight, after a marathon show at RTP Studios in Lisbon, we have our first six finalists for Festival da Canção 2023. The first six were chosen by a 50/50 jury-televote system, while the seventh was picked by the public alone. The final will take place on 11th March.

The first six finalists are:

  • Churky – Encruzilhada
  • Cláudia Pascoal – Nasci Maria
  • Mimicat – Ai coração
  • You Can’t Win, Charlie Brown – Contraste mudo
  • SAL – Viver
  • Esse Povo – Sapatos do cimento

The seventh finalist, selected following a technical glitch with the votes earlier, was:

  • Neon Soho – Endless World

Tonight’s show featured interval performances from soul band HMB and pop singers Ele and Ana. The jury contained former FDC competitors and songwriters, including Maro, who represented Portugal at Eurovision last year with Saudade, saudade.
