Margaret: “There’s spontaneity, humour and joy in my music”

Margaret is one of the hot favourites to win the Polish National Final on 5th of March with her song “Cool me down” penned by Robert Uhlmann, Arash, Alex Papaconstantinou, Anderz Wrethov, Viktor Svensson and Linnea Deb. The singer is very busy with preparations and promotions, especially because her song reached almost 2 million views on YouTube and all media pay attention to that act. Fortunately she found a couple of minutes to answer our questions!

Hi Margaret! What was your first reaction when you discovered you will take part in Polish National Final?

My first reaction was a huge smile 🙂

Why did you decide to enter the competition and who or what convinced you?

The song had the biggest influence. I really like this song, I like to wake up with it and dance to it. I thought it could be great to present “Cool me down” to whole Europe.

“Cool me down” made the whole Poland talk about you, but Europe as well, as after the release of your song Poland jumped to the first position in betting odds and is now the favorite to win Eurovision. Do you know why it happened?

I honestly have no idea 🙂

The song is composed by professional team including Arash, who has experience and big success in Eurovision. What’s the story behind this collaboration?

We know each other for many years, as we are in the same music label. It just happened, the song has been created and the idea about Eurovision came up. Everything was quite spontaneous.

You are very famous in Poland. What should European fans know about you and your music?

I think there is a lot of spontaneity, humour and joy in my music. I think it’s something you can like.

What are your plans for National Final?

We are still working on stage performance, I will have dancers and I will move my legs a little bit too. I don’t want to reveal too much 🙂

What are your favorite Eurovision songs?

Last year’s winner “Heroes” by Mans Zelmerlow – that’s the song which I still have in my memory. The same with Loreen and her “Euphoria”. There is still something which pushed me towards Sweden 🙂

Do you have the message for Eurovision fans who will watch the show on 5th March?

Enjoy the show and don’t forget that the contest remains only the contest.
