Eva Burešová – ” It is a subject on which everyone can reflect”

The Czech Republic selection takes place this week and we were lucky enough to catch up with Eva Burešová who is competing with her song “Fly”.  Here she speaks about how she became a part of the process and about some of her biggest inspirations.

Hey Eva, Congratulations on being in Eurovision Song CZ 2018! What made you want to enter the selection process?

Our country opened the national round after 10 years, so when the possibility presented itself it was a clear choice.

You have teamed up with Czech artist and Eurovision 2015 alumni Vaclav Noid Barta for your song “Fly”, can you tell us a bit more about the song and how you came to work with your writing team?

We have been friends and colleagues with Václav for many years now, I always liked his music. So I attempted for cooperation and it came about. The lyrics are by David Vostrý and I think, that the song is a success. It speaks from within all of us. Fly is about love. It is a subject on which everyone can reflect. Love is experienced by everybody with no regard to age. The song is sad, it is about finding oneself after getting the heart broken and having it so fast that one doesn`t even have a chance to realise how it all happened. But I would see the bright side of it. It will all turn well at last.

How would it feel to win and be selected for the Czech Repubic and go to the Eurovision song contest?

It would be a dream come true.

Can you tell us anything about how the song would be staged for the contest?

We have some ideas and I think that the audience has a lot to look forward to. The finale of the national round voting is round the corner, we will see how the audience and the jury decide.

Have you had the chance to listen to any of the other entries yet and what do you think of the competition?

Yes, I watched some of them and it would be fantastic to meet them on stage. In Eurovision are all great singers, in my opinion it is now only about the amount one is able to uncover of oneself. I am greatful for such a competition and if I could be part of it, it would be a dream come true.

Who are your biggest inspirations musically?

I like Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Kirk Franklin, Diana Ross etc. I will always let myself be inspired in those directions but I remain open to other styles as well. I would say that life itself inspires me and it itself chooses the genre it wants to be set in.

Any dream artists you would love to duet with?

They are many, but if anybody came and asked me to chose anybody I wanted, I would say ¨Call  Beyoncé and Bruno what their plans for Friday are?”

Do you currently have any other projects going on at the moment that we can look forward to?

I would like to release my first solo Album this year in cooperation with producers from abroad. I`m looking really forward to this cooperation. Otherwise I will still occupy myself with musicals and acting.

What do you enjoy doing when not performing?

I love reading, painting, creating anything. Above all I`ve got my son with whom any activity is relaxing. He`s wonderful.

And finally do you have a favourite Eurovision song from previous years?

Freddie – Pioneer the Hungarian competitor of  2016! Bombastic!

Many thanks for this interview Eva and I hope you Fly this year at Eurovision Song CZ! Best of luck!
