Czech Republic: 2019 Participant To Be Selected At End of January

Eurocontest.cz has revealed that the Czech Republic will select their participant for next years Eurovision at the end of January.

The website has announced that the country will be selecting their participant via a National Selection, just like they did this year. The selection will include at least 6 different entries. however the website states that this could be more, and the National Final will conclude at the end of January when the winning entry will be announced.

The winning entry is set to be selected again using an international jury aswell as Online voting.

Mikolas Josef was selected to represent the Czech Republic in Lisbon, Portugal after winning Eurovision Song CZ, the first Czech national selection since the country’s return to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015. He performed the song “Lie to Me” and finished 6th in the final with 281 points. This was the 2nd time the Czech Republic made it to the final, and the country’s best ever result so far.
