Two weeks ago, ESCBubble reported on the return of Dora, the national final for the Eurovision Song Contest used by Croatia from their 1993 debut all the way to 2011, making its return in 2019!

Revealed by newspaper Jutarnji back then was that broadcaster HRT is working on a 3-night festival in the city of Opatija, with each night having a different theme:

• Night 1 – Chansons and Opatija Serenades
• Night 2 –  Members of the Symphony Orchestra performing past Dora songs
• Night 3 – Entries for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

A jury will comment on all the performances and have a say in who gets to represent Croatia, together with the televoters at home.

Now HRT have published a little more, regarding the rules, stating that they will need final versions of the competing songs submitted to them which can be in the following languages: Croatian, English, Italian and French.
Foreign songwriters are more than welcome in the national selection as long as the performing artist is Croatian.

In recent years Croatia hasn’t used Dora and after their return qualified with Nina Kraljić and Jacques Houdek.
