A few months ago we reported that Malta is going for a whole new approach regarding their Eurovision participation, as they will be sending the winner of the first ever X Factor Malta to represent the country next May in Tel Aviv. As the competition is approaching its Judges Houses stage, the organizers have just announced a call for songs for the live shows.
All composers and lyricists interested in writing original songs for the contestants of X Factor Malta should email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. These songs will be performed by one of the 12 finalists in the live shows, however – it is unclear whether these would be songs considered for Eurovision as well.
Various former participants of the Malta Eurovision Song Contest are still in the race to represent Malta in Eurovision 2019, as they made it to the Judges Houses – Franklin Calleja, Anna Azzopardi, Petra, Danica Muscat, Michela Pace, Jade Vella, Aidan Cassar, but also Anna Faniello – the mother of two former Maltese Eurovision entrants, Claudia and Fabrizio.
The next episode of X Factor Malta is going to be the last Six Chair Challenge, where bands will compete for the six places in the Judges Houses. X Factor Malta is set to have its Final night on the 26th of January.
