Montaigne will compete at Eurovision 2021 from Australia!

Total of 39 countries are competing at Eurovision Song Contest 2021, unfortunately it has been revealed that one of those performances we won’t be able to watch live from Rotterdam as it was announced that the Australian delegation is unable to travel to the Netherlands, good news is that Montaigne is still in the race but performing from home.

i am sad to not have gotten the opportunity to perform on the big stage but grateful that I got to wear two years of eurovision in a row, during a pandemic nonetheless, which is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

The announcement was made through a video featuring the hosts of Eurovision: Australia Decides and Australian commentators of the show Myf Warhurst and Joel Creasy, with the appearance of their Eurovision representative Montaigne. You can check it below

A special Instagram Live with Montaigne is scheduled for 11:00 CEST, it is expected that some additional info is revealed during that live, prior to that Montaigne spoke to Eurovision.tv about her feelings, “Technicolour” and what does she look forward the most during the Eurovision week.

I’m feeling okay about it. Thrilled I still get to compete but bummed that I don’t get to take advantage of that gigantic Eurovision stage. The answer’s in the question I think. We’ve always been campaigning from a distance and so the only thing about the situation that changes here is where the performance is taking place, which I think we have adapted nicely and I’m excited for everyone to see it! Campaigning will simply go on happening!
