The couple wrote the following:

Finally our love celebration in Italy ❤️ The most wonderful bride next to me, the closest friends and family here to celebrate with us! 🥰 I couldn’t wish for more!

May everybody’s Midsummer be full of love 😘

Saara and Meri Aalto have been a couple since 2014. They got married in 2020, but didn’t get a chance to have a wedding celebration back then because of Covid 19 -pandemic. The couple have also been working together during almost their entire relationship. Meri has been Saara’s manager, and nowadays the couple has their own business, No Fear -academy, which is focused on mental and life coaching. They also have their own podcast focusing on the same themes. In 2021 the couple announced they’ve moved to Spain.

Saara Aalto first came into the knowledge of the Finnish public, when she finished runner-up  in Talent Finland in 2007. She participated in the Finnish national selection for Eurovision as a solo artist in 2011 and 2016, both times finishing runner-up. In 2016 Aalto also got quite a lot of international attention, when she finished second in X-Factor UK. In November 2017 the Finnish broadcaster YLE announced they had chosen Aalto to be the Finnish representative in Eurovision 2018. In May 2018 Aalto carried the Finnish flag in Lisbon with her song Monsters, finishing 25th in the Grand Final with 46 points:

In May 2023 Saara Aalto told in the interview of Yle’s show Perjantai (Friday), that she has taken some distance to the music industry and focused on her new job as a life coach. According to Aalto, when the pandemic started and emptied her calendar, she felt relieved and realized she had forgotten to listen to her own intuition:

From the young age I’ve walked my own path. I have been told I have to sing in Finnish, and I’ve still kept my head. I want to listen to my heart.

My value has always been that I listen to my own intuition. How can one listen to their intuition, if the calendar is full for the next two years?

During the pandemic Aalto returned to her life coach studies, which she had dropped out earlier. Nowadays Aalto has prioritised her well-being as number one, and she has said no to most of the singing gig offers, even though it has been really scary for her:

The great thing about life is that every day you can make a new choice. You can feel when you’re brave enough to take that first step. It may take time before you have enough courage. Nevertheless, I encourage to do so.

Congratulations to the happy couple and the best of luck to all of their upcoming projects! In her 2018 album Wild Wild Wonderland Saara released the song Don’t Deny Our Love, which she wrote to Meri. You can listen to the song here:
