France wins Junior Eurovision 2023
We have a winner! France has got the gold medal at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Zoé Clauzure performing the song Cœur. The show, which was hosted by Olivier Minne, Laury Thilleman and Ophenya, saw 16 countries compete at the venue Palais Nikaïa in the French city of Nice.
This year’s line-up had a debuting country Estonia, and another 15 that had already competed in previous editions. Germany was back after a year of absence, and Kazakhstan and Serbia withdrew from the contest:

- 🇬🇪 Georgia: Anastasia & Ranina – Over The Sky

- 🇫🇷 France: Zoé Clauzure – Cœur
- 🇦🇱 Albania: Viola Gjyzeli – Bota Ime
- 🇮🇹 Italy: Melissa & Ranya – Un Mondo Giusto

- 🇳🇱 Netherlands: Sep & Jasmijn – Holding On To You
A combination of a two-round online audience vote decided 50% of the outcome, while the other half was determined by a professional jury panel in each country, made up of adults and kids.
The first phase of the online voting, which was opened last Friday, allowed people to vote for three countries after watching short videos of each participant’s rehearsal. A second voting phase was opened for 15 minutes following the performances of all 16 participants.

So, Junior Eurovision is now over and it’s time to move on to Eurovision. Meanwhile, we will be waiting for the winning country to confirm if they will be hosting the contest in 2024.
