Meet the seven finalists of Czechia’s ESCZ 2024

The first national final of the Eurovision 2024 season is once again going to be Czechia’s ESCZ, as their final takes place next weekend in Prague. Even though the original plan was to have a total of five finalists just as it was the case in last year’s edition, the Czech national broadcaster ČT have selected a total of seven acts to compete for the chance to represent Czechia in Malmö.

The seven acts competing in ESCZ 2024 are as follows:

  • Aiko @aikomakesmusic
  • Elly @elly_musicofficial
  • Gianna Lei @giannalei
  • Lenny @lennyfilipova
  • MYDY @mydyofficial
  • Tom Sean @imtomsean
  • Tomas Robin @tomasrobinmusic

The titles, as well as the songs will all be released on the evening of the live show, on the 4th of December.

Unless a surprise announcement comes in between, Czechia will be the 5th country to select their artist, and the 2nd country (after France) to select the song as well. Vesna won the previous edition of ESCZ, and went on to represent their country in Liverpool with the song “My Sister’s Crown”. They finished in 10th place in the Grand Final, making this Czechia’s second-best result in the history of the Contest. Check out their performance from the final in Liverpool once again right here:

Unbelievable fact about LENNY – her mother, Lenka Filipova, was selected to represent Switzerland in 1988 at Eurovision. However, she eventually wasn’t allowed to leave Czechoslovakia, so a back-up artist – Celine Dion – was chosen to sing the same song that eventually won Eurovision 1988 and gave Celine her world-wide fame. :’) Hope her daughter will make it to ESC now <3
