Antsud: ‘I hope the message touches a lot of hearts’
Eesti Laul is near, and if you are a fan and followed the Estonian selection for a longer time, then the name ‘Antsud’ won’t be new for you. The Estonian band is on the stage of Eesti Laul again after 2017, and they can’t wait to show their performance and – most importantly – their song.
We had the chance to make a lovely interview with Aile from the band, read with love below.
-For our readers who don’t know Antsud, how would you introduce your band?
Antsud is a folk/pop/rock infusion band from Estonia
-This is not your first time at Eesti Laul, after 2017 you are selected again. How do you feel about the return, how did the band changed or developed during the years?
We have a new trummer, a female! She is great! Also new accordionist, also a really good addition. We have made 2 new albums since – Üle vee and Maa. 4 albums and it is our 10th anniversary 2024!
-Your song in Eesti Laul 2024 is called “Vetevaim”. Can you give us a hint about the meaning of the song, what was the inspiration behind it?
The song is about finding yourself, selflove and appriciation of the things you have in life.
-How you would compare your 2017 song “Vihm” with “Vetevaim”, what would be your thoughts? Maybe you prefer one of them more?
For me (Aile) this song is very personal. I hope the message touches a lot of hearts. Vihm was about freedom of speeche.
-How do you prepare for the semi final of Eesti Laul, you have fully made ideas for the staging?
Gold. That is our theme. The gold within.
-Are there any special rituals you do before going on the stage?
No. Just enjoy the moment.
-Winning Eesti Laul would mean you can represent Estonia in Eurovision. What would it mean to you if it happened? As it is not your first time competing there, I would guess it would be quite an important thing.
It would be a dream come true.
Måneskin. Ukrainian entries.
Thank you, and wishing you all the best!
