The Finnish broadcaster YLE has announced the finalists of this year’s Uuden musiikin kilpailu (UMK). The seven contestants were announced in the live show, which was aired tonight at 19.00 CET. The finalists of UMK24 are:
- Cyan Kicks – ”Dancing with Demons”
- Sexmane – ”Mania”
- Sara Siipola – ”Paskana”
- Jesse Markin – ”Glow”
- Windows95Man – ”No rules!”
- Sini Sabotage – ”Kuori mua”
- Mikael Gabriel x Nublu – ”Vox Populi”
The competing songs will be released during this and next week, one song each working day, starting with the song of Cyan Kicks and finishing with the song of Mikael Gabriel x Nublu. The first song will be released already in a couple of hours, at midnight Finnish time (23.00 CET). We will introduce you each song and artist during the next week.
The final of UMK24 will take place at February 10th 2024 in Tampere. The sold out show will be hosted by Viivi Pumpanen, Pilvi Hämäläinen and Benjamin Peltonen.
As we can remember, last year UMK was won by the one and only Käärijä with his party anthem ”Cha Cha Cha”, which finished 2nd in Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Liverpool:
