Thanasis Alevras and Jérôme Kalouta to be the Greek commentators in Malmö
Marina Satti was internally selected by ERT to represent Greece at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, and her entry “Zari” is to be released in the coming weeks. But whilst we are awaiting for the song release, other news come from Greece – ERT confirmed that they are sending Thanasis Alevras and Jérôme Kalouta to Malmö, and these two guys will be the Greek commentators this year.
Thanasis and Jérôme will replace Maria Kozakou who was the Greek commentator every year since 2011 (except for 2018), and Jenny Melita who was the commentator for the first time last year in Liverpool.
Thanasis Alevras is a well known actor, and the winner of the “Dimitris Horn” prize for his role in the play “Heroes” by Eleni Gasouka. He was also the winner of the Greek version of the show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” back in 2013. In 2020 Thanasis came out as gay an interview with a bimonthly Greek LGBTQ magazine “Antivirus”.
Jérôme Kalouta is a singer, songwriter, producer and actor from Greece. His songs were released for Universal Music Greece, Warner Music Greece, and later by his own production company Afrogreco Music. Over the years he collaborated with some of the most known composers and producers in Greece, including Dimitris Papadimitriou, Giorgos Theofanous , Dimitra Papadopoulou , Fokas Evangelinos as well as Eleni Gasoukas.
Both Thanasis and Jérôme promise to bring their own spin on Eurovision, and give the viewers of ERT a unique sight into each and every of the competing songs in Malmö.
