A new Eurovision-inspired collaboration has come about with just weeks to go before the Grand Final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö! The artist representing the United Kingdom in 2024 has teamed up with host nation Sweden’s Eurovision artist from 2018 to re-release his most recent single Kite.

Olly Alexander had this to say about his collaboration with Benjamin Ingrosso:

“When I first heard Kite, it made me feel sunny and happy, thank you Benjamin! It was a great experience working together, he’s a really sweet guy and I’m excited to be on this gem of a song.”

Benjamin Ingrosso was equally excited to work with Olly on his single:

“Can’t wait for people to hear this track. I’ve been a big fan of Olly’s music for many years and it feels very exciting to be releasing a song together with him now. Olly is an incredible person as well and extremely talented creative who I feel has added an amazing dimension to ‘Kite’.”

Kite was penned by Benjamin himself, along with songwriters Anya, Jon Shave, Salem Al-Fakir, and Vincent Pontare. The song is described as “a soaring anthem of euphoria and freedom, capturing the exhilarating feeling of a new encounter and the endless possibilities it brings. It’s about embracing life as a thrilling journey, a vibrant party, and the pursuit of love.”

Fans in Europe will be able to listen to it live as Benjamin Ingrosso goes on tour. His first leg will cross the continent, while his second leg will focus on Sweden. There is a noticeable gap in shows around Eurovision – might we see him at Eurovision in Malmö in some capacity?
