LIVE: NORWAY- Melodi Grand Prix 2020 Semi Final 1!

This year, to celebrate 60 years of Melodi Grand Prix, and Norway’s participation at Eurovision, NRK are having an extra special MGP year, with the semi-finals seeing a return for the first time since 2012. Each semi-final will come from a different region of the country. Tonight sees the first of five semi finals, and the region of Southern Norway is up first. The show takes place at the H3 Arena in Forenbu.

Four acts and songs are in the running. These will each be paired into ‘duels’ – where the song which receives the most votes goes through to the final round. There, the top 2 songs will battle it out and the winner will secure a place in the final alongside 5 pre-qualified entries.

The four competing songs this evening (in alphabetical order) are:

  • Geirmund – Come Alive
  • Kym Rysstad – Rainbow
  • Lisa Børud – Talking About Us
  • Raylee – Wild

The songs will be drawn into pairs at the start of the show. Also during the show, the first of the pre-qualified finalists will also perform live. First up is Sondrey with the song ‘Take My Time’.
