Full national final format announced

A couple of days ago, we have informed you about the 60 acts chosen for the Cypriot national selection. Now CyBC have revealed the full national final format, as well as the jury members who will help select the next entrant for Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest.

CyBC will be having a national final marathon of a total of ten shows, to select the best act for Vienna. The pre-selected 60 acts will all be presented in seven televised auditions, first of which will be broadcast on the 7th of December.

The jury panel made of Elena Patroklou (who represented Cyprus in Eurovision 1991), Alex Panayi (represented Cyprus in Eurovision 1995 and 2000), Despina Olympiou (up to date the last Cypriot Eurovision entrant, she took part in 2013), and Tasos Tryfonos will select the best 20 acts out of the 60. Those 20 acts will then qualify for the next phase of this national selection – the Eurochallenge.

The remaining 20 acts will be presented once again, in one of the two Eurochallenge shows, where the top six will qualify for the Grand Final on the 1st of February. The winner, and the next Eurovision entrant for Cyprus will be selected by a mix of 50% jury voting, and 50% televoting.
