Samir & Viktor returning to Melodifestivalen

Swedish tabloid Nöjesbladet can today confirm that Samir & Viktor will make a return to Melodifestivalen next year! Samir rose to fame as a participant on the Swedish version of Paradise Hotel and Viktor is a fashion blogger who managed to attract quite a following over the years. The two are friends and released their first single ”Success” in June 2014, grabbing the attention of Christer Björkman who then offered them a place in Melodifestivalen 2015. They managed to reach the final, via Andra Chansen (second chance round), and finish 8th there.

Sources close to Nöjesbladet reveal Samir & Viktor have been looking around for songs to enter Melodifestivalen 2016 with for quite a while, but now they finally have found the perfect song. The song is said to be written by none other than Fredrik Kempe, succesful composer in Melodifestivalen, who managed to win Melodifestivalen four times as a songwriter (2008: Charlotte Perelli – Hero, 2009: Malena Ernman – La Voix, 2011: Eric Saade – Popular and 2014: Sanna Nielsen – Undo) and co-wrote the Norwegian 2010 entry My Heart Is Yours, sung by Didrik Solli-Tangen.

According to Nöjesbladet’s sources, these 5 names are certain for next year’s Melodifestivalen:  Samir & Viktor, Smajling Swedes, Oscar Zia, Ace Wilder and Lisa Ajax.
And, according to sources within the Swedish music business, these have sent in songs but are awaiting a call from SVT:  Isa Tengblad, Pernilla Andersson, Ola Svensson, Badpojken, Sean Banan, Mariette Hansson, Rickard Söderberg, Panetoz, Molly Pettersson Hammar, Anders Fernette, David Lindgren, Timoteij, Hilda Stenmalm, Mollie Lindén, Gabriel Alares, Dinah Nah, Dolly Style, Simon Peyron (lead singer of Outtrigger) and Ammotrack.
