7. Loreen – ”Statements”

Christer explained he’s opening the festival with Boris René because it’s a fun, warm song and that’s how he would like the contest to start. It’s a positive song, something to kick off the party with! The same semi-final is being closed by Nano, who is singing a ballad. A song that is unusual for Melodifestivalen, Christer says. He placed it there exactly because he wants to see how the people react to such a song, he wants to surprise with him as an ”underdog” at this position. He placed Loreen last in the last semi-final because he knows there are expectations about her and people are curious as to what she has in store this time, so he keeps her for last.
In making this running order, Christer has listened to his own gut feeling a lot and tried to variate in both the size of the stage show and the vibe a particular song gives, so the viewers get a good show!

Melodifestivalen kicks off on Saturday the 4th of February and will be hosted by Clara Henry, David Lindgren and Hasse Andersson.
