Aftonbladet reveals possible Melodifestivalen participants

According to Aftonbladet and Nojesbladet, Rickard Soderberg, an opera tenor will participate in Melodifestivalen 2015. Newspapers informed that Rickard is ready to fight to represent Sweden in Vienna, but his competitors could be quite strong as Charlotte Perrelli, Mans Zelmerlow and Lili & Susie will most likely take part in MF 2015 as well.

It seems that Christer Bjorkman is trying to bring more popular names to attract audience and secure good TV ratings, especially after this year’s flop. SVT decided already to change the format of Melodifestivalen – in semifinals only 7 songs will fight for the final but in the final 12 songs will be presented.

So far, only one participant is officially confirmed – Kalle Johansson, the winner of Svensktoppen. Rickard Söderberg is considered as a certain participant but this has not confirmed by SVT. According to the sources from Nojesbladet, in MF 2015 we should see Mans Zelmerlow, Samir & Viktor, Sean Banan, Lili & Susie and Eurovision winner from 1999 – Charlotte Perrelli. As of these tabloids, there are also rumours about many other singers who might take part in the contest, mostly previous Melodifestivalen participants i.e. Top Cats, JEM, Panetoz, Oscar Zia, Linus Svenning, Mange Makers, Kristian Amparo, Andreas Weise, Alex Jafarzadeh, Rabih Jaber, De Vet Du, Alexander Vasiliou or Le Tac.

Melodifestivalen 2015 will start on the 7th of February with its 1st semifinal in Gothenburg, then the show will travel to Malmo, Ostersund, and Orebro, where the other semifinals will be held. Second Chance round will be in Helsingborg on the 7th of March, and the final in Stockholm, in Friends Arena on 14th March 2015. Sanna Nielsen and comedian Robin Paulsson were announced as hosts already. Tickets will be on sale from 24th October (semifinals, second change, final and the rehearsals).
