UK to select their entry for Eurovision 2016 in a national final!

The BBC is opting for a national selection next year, in order to select the entry of the United Kingdom in Eurovision 2016, to be held in Stockholm.

Up and coming acts are welcome to send their songs in until the 20th of November, when a special panel joined by members of OGAE UK will listen through the submitted songs, and select the best ones which will then proceed to a televised national final, where the public and a professional panel will decide who will be representing the United Kingdom in Eurovision 2016.

Hugh Goldmsith, a record label exec who was behind the successes of Atomic Kitten, Billie Piper and Blue, is taking the lead for this project, while Graham Norton will once again provide commentary live from Stockholm.

Guy Freeman claimed:

This year really will be the biggest song search for Eurovision the BBC has ever undertaken. With input from key industry figures and fan associations, plus with the public having the final say we are looking forward to seeing a true People’s Eurovision entry representing the UK at next year’s competition in Sweden.

Electro Velvet represented the UK in Vienna this year with their song “Still In Love With You”, which came in 24th.

Who would you like to see representing the United Kingdom next year in Sweden?
