Aimee Banks will represent Ireland in Sofia!

After winning the second semi-final of Junior Eurovision Eire, Aimee Banks triumphed during the Grand Final and will represent Ireland in Sofia, at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015! She will be the first ever Irish representative at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Aimee Banks is 13 years old. She comes from Moycullen, a village in County Galway. Her song is called ‘’Réalta Na Mara’’ (‘’Star of the Sea’’ in English). The song was composed and written by Aimee herself, with the help of Niall Mooney, Jonas Gladnikoff and Brendan McCarthy.

Tonight, in Ireland, was selected the first ever Irish representative for Junior Eurovision. Alongside the 4 qualifiers (David, Zena, Aimee and Muirreann), 2 other artists (Lisa-Rose and Aisli), who received a wild-card, got up on stage, with the hope of being chosen to represent their country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015, at the end of the month of November!

The final decision was up to three jurors, where after the sing-off one vote went to Zena, while the other two votes went to Aimee Banks, who then won the national final, and became Ireland’s first ever entrant in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Give her song a listen right here:

    Congratulations to Aimee 🙂
    Her song is nice but it reminds me of *The Voice(Winner of 1996 Vision) and that is disadvantage in my book..
    I prefered much more Zena to win tonight…I liked her song more than i do Aimee’s..

    Now i have Ireland’s song as my 6th favorite amont the 17 songs overall of Bulgaria’s contest
