Serhat reaches high at Billboard charts in USA!

Sometimes good things take time to be appreciated, but finally it happens. That could be the bigger recap of what happened in the last few days: with a very big satisfaction, Serhat, representative of San Marino, at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest, reached the Billboard Dance Club Songs Charts in USA, with his legendary song I Didn’t Know, in the version featuring the iconic Martha Wash.

With the original version of I Didn’t Know, Serhat represented San Marino at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. Listening to the new version of the song, it’s evident the empathy between the two singers, the audience can feel that Serhat and Martha are enjoying performing together.

»I always believed in that song and I was sure that it will reach sooner or later its audience. Entering USA Billboard dance charts made me very happy. Not only because I am the first Turkish artist at Billboard charts, on the other hand, it’s the first Eurovision entry, after many years in USA. The success of I Didn’t Know worldwide, including being no.1 at iTunes dance charts in Mexico, is another reason to be happy and a proof that the song has a special power to touch the hearts of the people,« Serhat said exclusively for ESCBubble.

Being high in the Billboard USA Dance Club Songs Charts is an amazing goal for a European artist. I Didn’t Know reached the position number #30 recently, and it is still running in USA. That is maybe surprising for a song, which finished 12th at the Semi Final of Eurovision Song Contest 2016, but surely expected in case of “I Didn’t Know” which was unfortunately underrated, especially by the jury voting. In Eurovision history, this Billboard Charts success never happened since 2006 with Helena Paparizou’s “My Number One”.
