Wiktoria will NOT be disqualified from Melodifestivalen 2019!

After we reported earlier on the possible disqualification of Wiktoria, after her song had been up for two hours on Saturday by accident, happier news has come out now: Wiktoria and her song ‘Not With Me’ won’t be disqualified!

Nellie Sörman from Sony Music gives more insight in what happened and explains that Melodifestivalen songs go into a ”releaser” state, so they can be released as quickly as possible if a song doesn’t advance in the competition or reaches Andra Chansen.
Something has gone wrong this time, though, and the song went from the ”releaser” state onto the worldwide web!

Sony have, very recently, been in talks with broadcaster SVT as well and the outcome of that can be read in a statement Melodifestivalen’s Project Leader Anette Helenius has given to newspaper Dagens Nyheter:

After a conversation with Sony Music, our opinion is that there was no inention to release the song on Spotify. We don’t think the damage is done on such a scale that it would require us to take measures.

This means that the way is cleared for Wiktoria and her emotional ballad ‘Not With Me’ and we will see them again in the Melodifestivalen final on March 9!
