It’s Look Away for Finland!

Tonight it was time to finish the Finnish national selection for Eurovision, when Uuden musiikin kilpailu 2019 was aired live from Turku, Finland. Three songs by Darude feat. Sebastian Rejman competed to win the ticket to Tel Aviv:

  1. Release Me
  2. Superman
  3. Look Away

The winner was decided 50/50 by the international jury and public televote. The jury members came from the UK, Norway, Spain, Czech Republic, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark and this year’s host country Israel. Look Away was the clear favorite of the jury, since it got 12 points from all of the jury members. After the jury votes the score board looked like this:

  1. Look Away 96 points
  2. Superman 74 points
  3. Release Me 70 points

After the jury votes, it was time to hear the results of the public televote. The Finnish public voted like this:

  1. Look Away 148 points
  2. Superman 73 points
  3. Release Me 19 points

So when the jury votes and the public votes were combined, Look Away was a clear winner:

  1. Look Away 244 points
  2. Superman 147 points
  3. Release Me 89 points
