Serbia’s RTS opens a call for songs for Beovizija 2020!

Serbia’s national broadcaster RTS has just started their open call for songs for Beovizija 2020, and thus the Serbian song for the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Rotterdam next May.

All interested composers and artists are welcome to send their songs in to RTS by the 15th of November 2019. Apart from the standard Eurovision rules, the following rules will also apply:

  • The lyrics of the participating songs have to be in one of the official languages of the Republic of Serbia
  • Foreign composers are welcome to enter the competition, whilst the singers must be citizens of the Republic of Serbia

In order to apply, you need to send in the song (both with vocals of the lead singer(s) as well as the backing track) on a CD, printed out lyrics of the song (three copies). All applications must be fully signed, including the full name of the applicant(s), date of birth, address, phone number, and email address of the composers and lyricists. All interested applicants should send this to the following address no later than the 15th of November:

The songs which will be selected to compete in Beovizija 2020 will be performed live for the first time in the programmes of RTS. The exact dates, and the format of Beovizija 2020 are yet to be announced.

Nevena Božović won Beovizija 2019 and represented Serbia in Tel Aviv with the song “Kruna”. She came 18th in the Grand Final with 89 points.
