This morning SVT has opened the submission process for songs to take part in the 2020 edition of Melodifestivalen. Artists and writers who want to take part can submit their entries via the contributions.melodifestivalen.se website.
As in previous years, 28 songs will participate in next years contest to decide who will represent Sweden in the 2020 contest taking place in the Netherlands. As usual one of these entries is the winner of P4 Nästa – Amanda Aasa, who won her spot over the weekend. 14 of the entries will be invited by SVT, and the other 14 will be songs chosen by the selection jury from the submissions they receive.
The submission process will only be open for 3 weeks and will close on September 15th 2019. Rules for the submissions can be found here – https://kontakt.svt.se/guide/injudan-till-melodifestivalen-2020
John Lundvik won last years Melodifestivalen with his song “Too Late For Love” and went on to finish in 5th place for Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.
