Jahn Teigen dies at the age of 70!

Three time Norwegian Eurovision entrant – in 1978 with “Mil etter mil”, 1982 with “Adieu” (in a duet with Anita Skorgan) and in 1983 with “Do Re Mi” – Jahn Teigen, died last night in Sweden at the age of 70.

Jahn Teigen had a very rich music career in Scandinavia, which lasted well over 50 years. He released over 60 albums, compilations and singles during his career (38 of which he released as a soloist). His breakthrough as a soloist came in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix which he won with “Mil etter mil”, and then scored 0 points at the Eurovision Song Contest in Paris. Nevertheless, the song became a massive hit in Norway.

Jahn Teigen took part in the Norwegian Melodi Grand Prix a total of 16 times – his last attempt being in 2005 with “My Heart Is My Home”, and finished in 4th place.
