Manca Berlec is competing in EMA2020 with the song “Večnost”. EMA is the slovenian national final for Eurovision Song Contest, the final will take place this week on 22 February, where 12 acts will compete to win the ticket for Rotterdam. We had the chance to talk with Manca before the national final about her participation in the contest.

Hello Manca Berlec and thank you for taking you time for ESCBubble!
First of all, how was your reaction when you heard you will be at
EMA2020?
Hi! Thank you for reaching out! When I found out I was really hyped and surprised, because I was not expecting it at all.

What are your expectation for the contest?
I usually start projects with no expectations and try to do my Best and most of all have a blast while doing it.However, I expect to hear some really good music from my fellow contestants and see some good performances.

Your song is called “Večnost”? What it is about, what’s the story behind?
Yes it is. In english it means eternity. It’s about eternal love and intimacy between two people. It talks about the first spark and chemistry in the beginning of a romantic relationship.

How will be the staging at EMA2020? What can we expect from your
performance?
With my performance I’m aiming for simplicity and honesty. I don’t want to be all about glitter and extravaganza, I want the public to focus on my music and the message that it brings.

Do you follow Eurovision and have you a favorite song from the contest?
Yes, I do. Actually I watch Eurovision every year for as long I remember. My ultimate favorite is Fairytale by Alexander Rybak.

And any other plans for 2020? Can we expect new music from Manca?
I plan to release a New music video for a song that’s on my currrent album. Then through the year you can expect few singles, and at the end of this year I will be releasing a New album.
