The four Israeli songtitles revealed!

On the 4th of February, Eden Alene won the talent search that is HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion and won the right to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest!
Israel have been using this selection format since 2015, which actually found them a winner in 2018 with Netta!
Usually the winner gets and internally selected song later, but not this time! On the 3rd of March there will be a special national final, HaShir HaBa L’Eurovizion where Eden’s Eurovision song will be chosen.

These four entries have now been selected:

  1. Roots
    Songwriters: Natan Goshen and Stav Beger
  2. Feker libi 
    Songwriters: Doron Medalie and Idan Raichel
  3. Savior in the Sound
    Songwriters: Oren Emanuel, Talia Londoner and Uri Avni
  4. Rakata
    Songwriters: Gal Joe Cohen, Eyal Ishay, Zlil Kalifi, Eran Kashi

The fourth song, ‘Rakata’, has a Hebrew title which means ”Only you”, while the second song in the list, ‘Feker libi’, has its title in Amharic, the official language of Ethiopia, where Eden’s parents come from.

Among the songwriters we also see big names!
Idan Raichel, known from the highly succesful group The Idan Raichel Project, performed during the Grand Final of Eurovision 2019 and he teamed up with Doron Medalie, one of the composers behind Netta’s ‘Toy’.
Natan Goshen, also a popular star in Israel (and co-composer of Netta’s song ‘Nana Banana’) teams up with the same man he wrote aforementioned song with, namely the other composer of ‘Toy’: Stav Beger!

Rotem Sela and Assi Azar crown Eden Alene as the winner of The Next Star Israel 2020!

The songs are planned to be released every on the 27th of February.
