EBU to air “Europe Shine a Light” as a replacement to Eurovision on 16th Of May!

We have got news about the plans which EBU has regarding the show which will be broadcasted as a replacement of Eurovision 2020 on 16th of May with the start of 21:00 CET in order to celebrate the artist which should’ve competed at the contest. The title of it will be “Europe Shine A Light”. The show will be hosted by the same hosts which were planned for Eurovision 2020: Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley and Jan Smit. While NikkieTutorials will be creating some online content for it. The show will last for 2 hours and it will be a non-competitive character thus providing plenty of surprises for fans and viewers at home who will be able to watch it also from the official Youtube channel.

More details about the line-up of “Europe Shine A Light” and the full list of broadcasters that will air it will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

We want to make a show that puts a spotlight not only on the 41 artists that were due to appear in Rotterdam but also inspire those at home and connect people from across Europe and beyond in these difficult times. Of course, we will also honour those who are affected by the coronavirus crisis and those who work so hard to fight it. Let’s make this an unforgettable moment in Eurovision history!

In addition to this EBU has declared the week from 10th to 16th of May as “Eurovision Week”, encouraging all EBU radio organizations across Europe to dedicate their airtime to the acts which should’ve competed at this years show.
