‘Eurovision: Australia Decides’ to return in 2022
Entertainment company Blink TV have today confirmed that Eurovision: Australia Decides will not return next year, but will instead return in 2022.
In April this year, Australian broadcaster SBS confirmed that Montaigne would represent Australia at next year’s Eurovision.
Whilst SBS hasn’t said exactly how Montaigne’s song for next year will be chosen, today’s announcement confirms that there won’t be a special edition of Australia Decides to select the entry.
Paul Clarke, the former Australian Head of Delegation and current Creative Director of Eurovision:Australia Decides commented on their quest to find next year’s song to represent Australia saying:
“It’s great to know for certain that Australia will be able to cheer for Montaigne at Eurovision 2021, and we’re excited to be working with her on a new song and staging.”
“To our music community we say – write the perfect Eurovision song! We have every intention of bringing the show back to the Gold Coast in 2022 bigger and better than ever.”
Last month, Montaigne posted on Twitter, saying:
