Blind Channel will carry the Finnish flag all the way to Rotterdam!

In similarity with previous years, Finland used UMK as its format to choose its representative for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest which is set to take place in May this year in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Seven artists competed for the opportunity to perform on the Eurovision stage as the Finnish artist. Yet, after some great performances and a voting sequence which consisted of both international jury and televoting, Blind Channel were announced as the winner and will therefore represent the Nordic country in Rotterdam after getting an overall of 551 points in the combined voting.

A surprising result was with former Estonian representative Laura coming last with only 13 points in the combined result of both televote and the juries vote. Last year’s winner Aksel came 5th with 108 points.

During the press conference which took place after the national final, the band said that for the performance on the Eurovision stage they will try and have “More fire and less clothes” and to make the whole performance more powerful.
