The Austrian national broadcaster ORF held a special press conference that ended moments ago, where press had a chance to listen to the Vincent Bueno’s Eurovision entry “Amen”, and watch its video clip.
“Amen” is your big Eurovision ballad with its ups and downs, and it manages to show off Vincent’s strong vocals. When talking about the song, Vincent said that at first glance the song is about a dramatic relationship story, but for him it is mainly about this inner struggle that everyone knows, with their own strengths and weaknesses, which leads to a bright future.
The video clip has some rather minimalistic elements, and follows the story of Vincent and a bird. At the end of the clip we see Vincent run out of the building he’s in for most of the song, runs out to the terrace, and the bird flies free. We asked Vincent about his plans for Rotterdam and whether and how will try to recreate the music video on stage:
We have a really strong stage director in our team, Marvin Dietmann. He is planning for us to do a lot of things on stage, but all of them in a very minimalistic way. As you can hear the song is like a wave, it goes up and down, and this is what we will try to recreate on stage. We are not going to try and do much glamour, but to underline the message of the song, which is “less is more”.
“Amen” is written by Tobias Carshey, Ashley Hicklin, and Jonas Thander, and it will officially be presented to the public tomorrow morning at 7:50am CET on the Ö3 radio station, and we expect the song to be available with its video clip on Eurovision’s Youtube channel shortly after.
