Panik Records’ CEO reveals: talent show will deliver Cyprus’ Eurovision 2023 artist!

News has come from a country that can be described as one of the most ambitious ones competing in the Eurovision Song Contest. And they’re thinking longterm!

In a very recent interview with Esquire Magazine, the CEO of succesful label Panik Records has revealed that Cyprus will get a national final for 2023! You read that right, they’re busy planning for 2023 already!

The CEO of Panik Records, Giorgos Arsenakos, has stated:

I can say that we as Panik have talked to RIK, the state channel of Cyprus, and we will take over the representation of the country in Eurovision in 2023. So whoever wins in the new talent show, which we are preparing, will represent Cyprus in Eurovision in 2023. I consider it a very strong prize, which will bring very good entries.

Panik Records are no strangers to the contest, having been behind the Cypriot participations of 2018 (Eleni Foureira), 2020 (Sandro) and 2021 (Elena Tsagrinou).
All internal choices indeed and with the talent show in 2023, it would be the first time the island sees a national final since 2015, when John Karayiannis won the Eurovision Song Project.

With news of 2023, nothing definite for 2022 yet, we can look back to 2021 when Elena Tsagrinou gave a fiery performance of ‘El Diablo’ in Rotterdam:

Are you looking forward to a national final for Cyprus in 2023?
