Intelligent Music Project’s Frontman in Hot Water in Spain

Chilean-born Ronnie Romero has controversy swirling around him today, as Bluper broke the news that he is a wanted man in Spain.

The lead vocalist for Intelligent Music Project is currently being searched for in Spain after failing to appear to testify at his judicial appeal, as ruled by the Court of First Instance number 3 of Valdemoro in a statement which Bluper was able to access. As he failed to show for his hearing on 17 November 2021, the court decided that as an additional precautionary measure Romero risks incarceration for five years, among other possible penalties.

He is accused of threatening his ex-partner and now she has a restraining order against him. Romero is  not allowed within 500 meters of her, and is not allowed to communicate by any means with her either. Romero lived and worked on his music career in Spain from 2009-2019, and this incident is believed to have transpired during that time.

Also, according to the preliminary proceedings document dated 28 December 2020 Romero’s right to buy, possess, and carry a weapon in Spain is prohibited until the end of the procedure.

It remains to be seen how these serious allegations might affect his participation at Eurovision, or in their planned promo tour. Intelligent Music Project currently plans to do a small promo tour in Italy, Greece, Belgium, France, and The Netherlands in the lead up to Turin in May.
