Listen to the 8 finalists and wildcard candidates of Unser Lied für Liverpool

The German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, “Unser Lied für Liverpool”, will take place on the 3rd of March at 22:20 CET in the Cologne MMC Studios and will, once again, be hosted by Barbara Schöneberger.

Today NDR has revealed the full line-up that will compete to represent Germany in Liverpool. These acts are going to compete in the final on March 3rd:

Lord Of The Lost – “Blood & Glitter

Lord Of The Lost is a dark-rock band from Hamburg that has been active since 2007. They have been present in the German charts for more than 10 years and their recently published album, “Blood & Glitter” reached number 1 in the German album charts. Now they want to represent Germany with the title song of their number one album:

Anica Russo – “Once Upon A Dream

Anica Russo is a German singer and songwriter with Croatian and Italian roots. She published her first album at the age of 18 and has gained a following of over 100,000 people on TikTok. She will compete at Unser Lied für Liverpool with “Once Upon A Dream“:

Lonely Spring – “Misfit

The uprising emo-rock band from Passau released their song “Misfit” in Novemeber 2022, with the intention to represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. They have now made it to the final of Unser Lied für Liverpool and are a big step closer:

Patty Gurdy – “Melodies Of Hope

Another act that has made no secret of their application to Unser Lied für Liverpool is Patty Gurdy, who combines modern with medieval sounds and is famous for playing the hurdy-gurdy, an instrument that would make its debut on the Eurovision stage with “Melodies Of Hope“:

Will Church – “Hold On”

The 26 year-old singer-songwriter is best known through his participation in The Voice Of Germany 2021, where he performed Duncan Laurence’s “Arcade”.

TRONG – “Dare To Be Different

Trong Hieu is a German-Vietnamese singer who made it into the Top 25 of German Idol in 2008 and won the Vietnamese version of Idol in 2015. Trong already applied to the German national final in 2014, but without success. This time it worked with “Dare To Be Different”:

René Miller“Concrete Heart”

René Miller is an acclaimed songwriter who was awarded the German Songwriting Award in 2018. He wrote songs for several big names, including Zoe Wees, Topic or Mike Perry. At Unser Lied für Liverpool, he will perform “Concrete Heart”:

Frida Gold“Alle Frauen in mir sind müde”

Finally, coming in as a huge surprise is Frida Gold, one of the biggest and most succesful German bands. They had their big breakthrough in 2011 with their debut album “Juwel” and their second album “Liebe ist meine Religion” stayed at number-1 in the German album charts for 17 weeks. Frontwoman Alina Süggeler has also been one of the judges in the German national selection in 2012, Unser Star für Baku:

However, one more participant will complete the full line-up. Artists also had the chance to apply over TikTok and one of these entries will win a wildcard to Unser Lied für Liverpool:

The voting for the TikTok wildcard winner is already open and the winner will be announced on February 3rd.
