Joker Out’s Eurovision anthem Carpe Diem now also in English

Hot discovery of the still ongoing Eurovision pre-parties tour – Joker Out –  will represent Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool with the energetic generational anthem ‘Carpe Diem’. As they are getting asked a lot what the song in Slovenian is really all about, they reworked the song in English, for an international audience. They are greeting the official release of it in Liverpool, where they are currently shooting a music video for a collaboration with Elvis Costello.

Hailing from Barcelona, where they’ve spent the last weekend doing over 25 interviews for international press, meeting with Serbian actor Darko Peric (Helsinki from Money Heist / La casa de papel) and Spanish fans, performing at the show in Sant Jordi Club and filming new episode of their web show, Kris, Bojan, Jan, Jure and Nace just couldn’t wait to reveal English version of ‘Carpe Diem’, which is out today. Take a look at the English version below:

The response from the media and fans to the original in Slovenian are overwhelming. People like it, we were surprised how many of them even sang it with us at the concert, but they were asking us a lot what the lyrics are all about. We expected this to happen, so we rewrote and recorded it in English at the same session in Hamburg as the original. It’s not a direct translation, but the message and vibe are the same.

What is Carpe Diem actually all about?

Carpe Diem is a call to all who know that life is more than what meets the eye. This shagadelic indie dance anthem is a reflection of the band members’ year-round gigging and joy of life. The message is simple: whatever life throws at you – music and dance are always the right answer. The video takes place in a mystical hotel, where the seemingly ordinary and boring world merges with the crazy and magical. You never know what awaits you in the next room or corridor. The only question is: do you dare to surrender to magic or not?

The video was shot at the end of January with a 50-member team, with the same number of extras in the abandoned hotel nearby Slovenia’s capital city and the Union Hotel in Ljubljana under the direction of their in-house video guru Marko Pirc (a sought-after music video and major TV campaigns director).

The atmosphere on the set was so energetic and sparkling that we forgot that we were recording a party and we didn’t even have to play to really enjoy it.
