Zlata Ognevich will be the Ukrainian spokesperson for Eurovision 2023!

There are different ways of representing your country and one of them, one of the highest honours when it comes to Eurovision, is to be asked to announce your country’s points. Zlata Ognevich has been chosen to do so for Ukraine!

Ukrainian broadcaster Suspilne announced so today, by the voice of Oksana Skybinska. Being the Ukrainian Head of Delegation she stated:

Such an important mission as the announcement of the scores of the national jury is entrusted to Zlata Ognevich this year, who once brought our country a high third place. Zlata already performed this honorable role – to be the face of Ukraine – in the landmark 2017 for us, when Eurovision took place in Kyiv. Unfortunately, due to the Russian full-scale invasion, we cannot host the Song Contest at home this year, but despite everything, Ukraine will be live in the grand finale of the show in the person of our spokeswoman. On May 13, live from the heart of Ukraine, Zlata will announce to whom our country gave the highest score.

Celebrated artist Zlata herself reacted as well. Exclaiming:

I am pleased that at this year’s Eurovision I will announce the highest marks from the jury. I remember the joy of our team when my scores were announced in 2013. This is a moment of joy, so I am happy that I will be able to bring good news to someone.

After having announced the points in 2017, when Ukraine hosted the contest in their capital Kyiv, Zlata will do this once again, exactly 10 years after having represented her country in Malmö, where she came 3rd with ‘Gravity’:

Do you have fond memories of Zlata’s performance in Eurovision 2013? And are you happy she’s returning to give the points for Ukraine once again?
