Cyprus chooses Silia Kapsis for Malmö

Sources at OGAE Greece have revealed that 16-year-old Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö!

This marks the second year in a row that Cypriot broadcaster RIK internally chooses an Australian singer to represent the Mediterranean island at the Contest.

While we wait for the official announcement from the broadcaster, OGAE Greece reports that Silia was chosen before 15th August, and that fans should expect a dance-pop banger to represent Cyprus. This officially ends the drama surrounding the Cypriot involvement in Eurovision 2024, after initially announcing a selection show, only to have the Greek broadcaster file a complaint about it, and suddenly changing Cyprus’ selection to an internal one.

As for the artist, Silia does have strong connections to Cyprus, despite growing up down under! Her father is Cypriot and her mother is Greek. Despite her young age (born in 2006), she is already an experienced singer, actress, and dancer – having appeared on numerous TV shows and even doing the news for Nickelodeon Australia!

Her most recent single is Disco Dancer which you can check out below:
