FiKmas 2023 is set for 22nd December

FiKmas is coming early for 2023! OGAE Albania has announced that the 62nd edition of Festivali i Këngës will kick off on Tuesday, 19th December and run for four nights, with the Grand Final set for Friday, 22nd December.

The submissions window recently closed in Albania with broadcaster RTSH receiving over 80 submissions for FiK62 from within Albania and beyond. Songs were submitted by composers from countries including Italy, Sweden, North Macedonia, Germany, and even the United States.

Whereas last December, Albina won a special 100% televote to represent Albania at Eurovision, this edition will see the winner come from a 50/50 split of jury vote and televote in the Final.

A total of 27 artists are expected to compete in FiK, 13 of which will be established artists, while 14 new artists will be given a place in Albania’s national music festival.

Albania was represented at Eurovision 2023 with the song Duje by Albina & Familjia Kelmendi in Liverpool. After qualifying from the Semi Final with 12 points from the Rest of the World, they placed 22nd in the Grand Final with 76 points.
