In a surprise move, the Greek broadcaster ERT announced that Marina Satti has been internally selected to represent Greece at Eurovision in Malmö!

In doing so, Greece has become the third country to choose its act for Eurovision 2024, after Belgium picked Mustii and neighboring Cyprus selected Silia Kapsis.

The news came somewhat suddenly during the broadcast of Studio 4 on ERT1 this afternoon.

Marina is a Greek singer, songwriter, and music producer known for combining traditional Greek and Anatolian sounds with urban elements and rhythms.

Back in February, there were hints that Greece was considering hosting a national final for 2024, in the hopes of eliciting a greater involvement from the Greek public in the process of choosing an entry. It would have been the first Greek national final since 2015.

Victor Vernicos represented Greece at Eurovision in Liverpool, but sadly his song What They Say became only the third Greek entrant in history to not reach the Grand Final.
