Participants of Eurovizija.LT have been revealed!

Two months ago we informed you that Lithuanian broadcaster LRT is preparing a new show to select their entry for Eurovision 2024. This morning we’ve got more news about Eurovizija.LT.

In order to mark the 30th anniversary since their debut at Eurovision Song Contest a total of 40 acts will compete for the chance to succeed Monika Linkytė as the next Lithuanian representative at the show. The first heat of the selection will be broadcest on 13th of January, at 20.00 CET on LRT Television and on the web portal LRT.lt

The show will span over 6 Saturdays through 5 heats and a grand final evening. The final is scheduled to take place on 17th of February. Each heat will feature 8 acts. The voting will be conducted 50% by the audience and 50% by the jury and the two best rated songs will advance to the final. In the grand final there will be 2 rounds of voting. After the first round of voting 3 songs will advance to the superfinal of the show and the audience will be the one to decide the winning act out of those three superfinalists.

I am happy that this year’s selection of the competition received a considerable number of applications – this shows that Lithuania’s participation in the song competition, which has been going on for 30 years, is still interesting for both the performers and the audience, who will be able to sit down and watch the national selection on the screens for even six winter Saturdays;

Second familiar face for all Eurovision fans is Vilija (2014). She performed the song “Attention” and as 11th placed act of the 2nd semi-final she barely missed out on the final. The third former representative who returns is Andrius Pojavis (2013) his entry “Something” ended on the 22nd place in the Grand final of the show.
