Benidorm Fest 2024 – hosts and jury revealed

There is only a few more weeks to go until Spain kick off their annual search for their Eurovision Song Contest representative. Since 2022, Spanish broadcaster RTVE has revitalised the legendary Benidorm Fest as their national selection format. Since then, the Spanish delegation have improved their results significantly at Eurovision, with representatives Chanel and Blanca Paloma both going on to become fan favourites at the contest.

This year, sixteen brand new singers and bands will be taking to the Benidorm Fest stage with the ultimate prize of performing in Malmö, and today RTVE have also revealed the three hosts who will be presenting the two live semi-finals, and following grand finale. Eurovision star Ruth Lorenzo, who represented Spain 10 years ago at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with “Dancing In The Rain”, will be joined by TV personality Marc Calderó and singer Ana Prada as the hosts of the main television show. Accompanying these three will be an introductory segment, titled Benidorm Calling and hosted by returning presenter Inés Hernand and Jordi Cruz, and also a commentary show also hosted by Inés Hernand, where she will be joined by Aitor Albizua.

Sticking to the reliable format of the past two years, the winner of Benidorm Fest will be crowned based on the results of a mixed national and international jury (50%), a demoscopic jury (25%) and a public vote (25%). For the jury results, the Spanish panel will be chaired by Spanish performer Beatriz Luengo, and will consist of Carlos Baute, Ángela Carrasco and Guille Milkway. Meanwhile, joining them will be the international panel consisting of Lee Smithurst, David Tserunyan, Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen, and Nicoline Refsing. These eight jurors will hold a lot of power when they get to make up half of the final results.

Benidorm Fest 2024 will be taking place at the end of January, with semi final one taking place in three weeks on Tuesday 30th January, semi final two  on Thursday 1st February, and the grand finale on Saturday 3rd February 2024.
